A traditional bolt-on clip secures the knife into a pocket by pinching a very small swatch of fabric to the wide, flat side of the knife handle. The In-Line Pocket Clip, provides retention by causing the fabric of a pocket edge or waistband to form two right-angle bends as the knife is worn, pressed against the body by the clothing.
Also, because of it’s novel location, the new In-Line Pocket Clip reduces the likelihood of catching on or scratching objects that the user might lean on or brush against such as a car door or expensive furniture. Rather than exposing a metal surface directly outward (perpendicular to the user) as with conventional pocket clips, the In-Line Pocket Clip
(when deployed in a pocket) positions the metal clip out of harms way, exposing only fabric directly outward.
In addition, the In-Line Pocket Clip is truly ambidextrous.
